About Matthew Shirley, OD
Dr. Matthew Shirley grew up in the Saltsburg area and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Vincent College. He then went on to earn a Doctorate in Optometry at The Ohio State University and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. During his time in school, Dr. Shirley spent his final year of training under nationally renowned eye doctors at locations in Central and Southern Ohio, and North Carolina. This included ocular disease rotations with Eye Specialists of Ohio and the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. Dr. Shirley has extensive training in disease management such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, diabetic eye care, and many others.
