ABOUT DOCTOR VINCETT
Dr. William K. Vincett Jr. is a third-generation optometrist who owns and manages
Vincett Eye Care Associates, LTD., an independent 12-doctor optometric practice serving the
vision needs of patients in the Pittsburgh and Boston areas through four office locations.
Dr. Vincett specializes in advanced contact lens care and research, and has performed more
than 20 clinical studies for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on behalf of major
contact lens manufacturers. Additionally, he has instructed manufacturer sales forces on
bifocal and soft contact lenses for astigmatism, served as a guest speaker at continuing
education seminars, participated in corporate focus groups, and previously managed contact
lens services for a 16-office, 19-doctor group.
He is known as an early adopter of new product and eye care technologies, being one of the
first optometric professionals to offer patients the benefits of corneal topography for custom
contact lens fittings, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) for eye disease diagnosis and
management. He has internationally consulted practices interested in technology adoption
and integration, written several articles for publication in national trade journals and
newspapers, and provided professional comment for radio and television media regarding
eye care issues.
Dr. Vincett currently serves as Immediate Past President of Practice Management Associates,
a select group of 15 progressive optometric practices from across the country who meet
regularly to share practice improvement ideas, and to help develop new products and
services for ophthalmic companies. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Focus Group,
which meets regularly to discuss practice issues and trends.
He performed his undergraduate work at Keene State College and Ohio State University, and
received his doctorate at the Ohio State University College of Optometry.
